FFAFBiconThe FanFilm Awards was founded by Eugene Cordell in 2014. The festival and awards ceremony was produced by Azure Lorica, and presented for the first time at Ninja-Con, in June 6, 2015

Fan Films were showcased in a program on triskelepress.com, delivering several films in homage or in parody of an original story or theme. The lack of fan film oriented award ceremonies encouraged Azure Lorica to create a venue for these independent production groups, beginning with Ninja-Con, a small independent anime and Asian culture convention, founded on 2013.

FanFilm Awards calls for independent film productions, that reference to all forms of entertainment, particularly original or popular stories in books, TV, film, and videogames.
